      • Our organic cocoa butter is derived from cocoa beans, is food-grade, and not deordorized using a chemical process. Born from the cacao, a tropical evergreen tree, its scientific name means “food of the Gods” in Greek. Its edible seeds called cocoa beans are processed into cocoa butter, which heals chapped, peeling lips and because of its high Polyphenol content improves skin elasticity/tone and increases collagen retention/production. It naturally fights skin aging!

      • Avocado oil relieves dry, cracked skin by moisturizing the outermost layer of your lips. Rejuvenating and healing, avocado oil nourishes your lips with Vitamin E as well as Vitamins A, D, and Omega 3.

      • A wound healer, organic turmeric powder helps protect the skin against both UVA and UVB rays and is anti aging. Turmeric powder benefits skin tones and heals dark, scarred lips.

      • Loaded with skin healing properties, our organic beeswax protects and repairs dry, rough chapped lips locking in moisture. It is also known for its antibacterial properties, which keep lips healthy. Candelilla wax is derived from the candelilla shrubs of grown wild in northern Mexico and Texas. This hypoallergenic, plant-based wax conditions your lips providing nutrients.

      • Meadow foam seed oil has several skin benefits which include protecting the skin from UV rays and adding moisture to dry skin. Meadow foam seed oil is highly resistant to heat and oxidation which means that it is resistant to rancidity. Meadow foam seed oil has skin benefits in cosmetics because it is light weight, non greasy and lubricates the skin very well.

      • Our castor oil is cold-pressed, organic, and GMO-free. Used widely for skin aliments, castor is filled with Vitamin E and ricinoleic acid which reduces the appearance of scars. Its antibacterial and antifungal compounds keep our organic lipstick safe and free of bacteria. Castor oil also provides skin with protection against the sun and cold.

why we do not use these ingredients:

    • Titanium Dioxide
    • Micas
    • Carmine
    • Talc
    • Nanoparticles
    • FD&C Lake Dyes
    • Fragrance
    • Titanium dioxide has been designated as a carcinogen when inhaled by The International Agency for Research on Cancer.

    • Micas are often used in lipstick to add a glittery shine. The shine comes from the mica particles reflecting off the light. Although mica is a “natural occurring mineral formulation, its microscopic glittery flakes can contain toxic metals like lead, manganese, chromium, and aluminum." Some mica cosmetics can cause an allergic reaction on lips.

    • Carmine is a pigment that is created from the shells and dried bodies of a cochineal female insect by crushing the insects. Carmine can pose a health risk to some, causing severe allergic reactions.

    • Studies about the dangers of inhaling baby powders and eye shadows containing talc with carcinogen asbestos came out in International Agency for Research on Cancer and the 2014 FDA. Talc. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. If talc is a danger to inhale and causes adverse effects just from smelling it, imagine ingesting it in your lipstick!

    • Due to new developments in technology, companies can break down powders into smaller sizes called "nano-size," creating nanoparticles. Nanoparticles have been proven to be toxic to human tissue and cells when inhaled and absorbed into your skin.

    • Lake dyes (Red 40, Red 7, Red 28, Yellow 6, Yellow 5) are coaltar derivatives and contain cancer causing properties which can be toxic to your body. Yellow 5 CI19140 is a xenoestrogen and an endocrine disruptor. What does this mean? Tartrazine effects your body’s hormones, interfering with its natural functions. It can also cause allergic reactions and adverse “hypersensitive reactions for some people."

    • Flavor, aroma or otherwise known as fragrance is not regulated by the FDA. This means it can contain anything. Any chemical can be hidden under the word “fragrance.” Lipsticks that contain an aroma or flavor additive can be unsafe to ingest regularly. Some fragrances may cause “health problems such as cancer” as well as negatively affect your “reproductive” system by exposure to toxins. Other issues include allergies and skin sensitivies. What’s more, fragrance can also contain phthalates which are linked to possible “preterm birth and impaired underdevelopment in girls."
